Closed loop system self-sustainable

CO.N.I.P. implements a closed loop system in which the collection and recycling of plastic crates and pallets generate secondary raw material used in the internal production process.

The Consortium, which was formed in 1998 thanks to the Ronchi decree, obtained authorization from the Environment Ministry to manage its own packaging.

Producers - parties who collect, transport and wash primary and secondary plastic packaging in private and public areas, and also public institutions and trade associations if these have the necessary legal qualifications to participate.

Users - parties who fill the secondary and tertiary plastic packaging such as retailers and distributors of full or empty crates, and importers of full non-primary plastic packaging.

Recyclers - parties who treat secondary and tertiary plastic packaging through a production process in order to obtain a product having the same use as the original one, or having other properties except energy production; indeed they use secondary and tertiary plastic packaging to make secondary raw material or products applying treatments approved by law.

Collectors - parties who collect, transport and wash primary and secondary plastic packaging in private and public areas, and also public institutions and trade associations if these have the necessary legal qualifications to participate.

The National Plastic Packaging Consortium is a voluntary consortium which was established in 1998 in accordance with article 38, sub-paragraph 3, letter a, of the legislative decree 22/97 with approval of the Osservatorio Nazionale sui Rifiuti. The consortium deals with the collection and recycling of plastic pallets and crates all over Italy.
