The cooling specialist Isofred counts on a Projects gallery, explaining some installations by the company. Here three of them.


La Piemontesa Factory, with natural coolants and maximum energy efficiency (1st. picture)
This main concept of this project is the use of natural coolants and energetic efficiency.
The cascade refrigeration system combines NH3 evaporating at -10⁰C on the higher side with freezing CO2 evaporating at -35⁰C. This configuration prevents the use of HFC refrigerators. This project has also taken into account the use of residual thermal energy in order to heat water.

Fruit Preservation And Banana Ripening In MercaZaragoza (2nd picture)
Installation of a fruit preservation system in the Logistics Platform of Zaragoza (Mercazaragoza). The machines facilitate the storage and ripening of tropical fruits like plantains and bananas in a continuous weekly production cycle. This allows the company to treat common fruits and vegetables with different sensitivities to ethylene, such as pineapple, tomatoes, grapes and apples.

Isofred used a humidification system that kept the fruit at a relative humidity percentage very close to 95%, which prevents weight loss. The system has become stronger and is reducing the amount of HFC, gases that are in the initial vanishing phase, which, according to F-Gas, this process will be complete in 2030.

Static Hydrocooler Installation In Cancarix, Albacete (4rd and 5th pictures)
Installation of a static Hydrocooler to cool 6 pallets of cherries in 6-minute cycles and with a capacity of 8,000 kg/hr. In Cancarix (Albacete).
The design parameters take into account an entrance for the fruit at +28⁰C and an exit at +3⁰C with optimal results.
